भोला बहुत ही सुंदर साफ मन का था और वह महादेव का भक्त था। उसके बचपन में ही उसके माता का एक दुर्घटना में मौत हो गई थी और उसके पिताजी दुर्घटना होने से सही से चल फिर नहीं पाते थे। अब उसी ही परिवार का ख्याल रखना था, जिसमें उसके पिता थे और कोई नहीं क्योंकि उसकी माता और उसकी बहन का बचपन में ही दुर्घटना होने से मौत हो गई थी। भोला बचपन से ही महादेव का भक्त और उनकी पूजा, आराधना ,भक्ति किया करता था। वह बहुत ही सरल और साफ दिल का था कोई भी व्यक्ति उससे अपना काम निकलवा लेता था और वह खुशी-खुशी उन सभी व्यक्तियों का कार्य कर देता था । उसका बचपना बड़ा ही कष्ट दाई था क्योंकि जब बचपन में उसकी माता और उसकी बहन का मृत्यु हो गई थी तो और उसके पिता का उस हादसे में पैरों पर चोट लगने से सही से चल फिर पा नहीं रहे थे और वह बचपन से ही मेहनत-मजदूरी काम करना शुरू कर दिया था। वह सुबह उठता भोलेनाथ को अपना ध्यान लगाकर पूजा करता और अपने कार्यों को करने चल देता। जब वह काम से वापस आता तो वह अपने पिता का देखभाल करता और भोलेनाथ की आराधना करके सो जाता ऐसा ही जीवन उसका 15 साल तक चला। जैसे जैसे वह बड़ा होता गया वह सामाजिक कार्यों से जुड़ता चला गया। फिर समाज के कल्याण में अपना बहुमूल्य समय देता क्या और धीरे-धीरे शिव भक्ति में इस तरह लीन हो गया कि वह सुबह से शाम तक बस "शिवा, शिवा" करता रहता। "हरि ओम, हरि ओम, हरि ओम" करता जीवन बिताता। उसके पिता भी बहुत ही संस्कारी पुरुष थे और उनका ह्रदय भी बहुत सा था, भोला के बचपन में ही उसके माता और बहन की मृत्यु होने के बाद उसके पिता बहुत दुखी रहते थे।

लेकिन यह भाव भोला के मुख कभी आने नहीं दिया,ताकि भोला को कोई दुख ना हो। वह भी भोला की तरह शिव की आराधना किया करते थे। उनकी आयु ढलती जा रही थी और उनके मन में एक ख्याल बहुत दिनों से उनके मन में घूम रहा था कि भोला अब 25 साल का हो गया उसकी शादी करा देनी चाहिए। भोला के पिता उसके लिए अब लड़की देखे,जो डीके दोस्त की थी और वह भी बहुत ही सुंदर और अच्छे विचारों वाली थी। बोला शादी नहीं करना चाहता था, वह कहता था कि मेरा जन्म सिर्फ शिव भक्ति के लिए हुआ है, इसलिए मैं सिर्फ शिव की आराधना करूंगा और कुछ नहीं। पिता के बहुत विनती करने के बाद भोला शादी के लिए मान गया। अब बोला की शादी हो गई थी और शादी के कुछ दिन बाद ही उसके पिता की मृत्यु हो गया, जिससे वह काफी दुखी होआ, लेकिन उसके साथ एक और बहुत बड़ी जिम्मेदारी थी। उसकी धर्मपत्नी! वह दोनों एक साथ बड़ी खुशी से रहा करते थे और प्रभु शिव की आराधना किया करते थे। भोला दिन भर शिव की भक्ति में लगे रहने से वह काम बहुत कम करता था, जिससे घर में खाने पीने की दिक्कत होने लगी। अब उसे अपने खुद के धर्मपत्नी और अपना भोजन इकट्ठा करने में काफी परेशानी होती थी, वह अब घर का खर्च चलाने के लिए , अपने गांव के एक धनी सेठ से कुछ पैसे उधार लिए और उससे 'कुछ महीनों में वापस कर दूंगा' उसने ऐसा कहा। समय जैसे-जैसे बितता चला गया, वैसे वैसे उसके ऊपर परेशानियों का घेरा बढ़ता ही चला गया। लेकिन वह कभी भी परेशानियों से मुंह नहीं मोड़ता वह उन परेशानियों का डटकर सामना करता और उन सभी समस्याओं का हल करता जो उसके सामने आती। वह शांति और धैर्य से हर उन बाधा को मिटा देता जो उसके समस्या बनती थी। धीरे-धीरे उसने वह सभी पैसे उन धनी सेठ को लौटा दिया जो उसने उन लोगों से लिया था।

वह और उसकी धर्मपत्नी दोनों 1 दिन जंगल के सैर पर निकले, तभी उसकी पत्नी को एक नाग ने डस लिया, जिसके कारण उसकी पत्नी का स्वर्गवास हो गया, अब वह अपने जीवन में अकेला रह गया था। अब उसको शिव भक्ति के अलावा और उसके पास जीवन जीने का कोई भी ऐसा नहीं था, जिसके लिए वह कुछ करें इसलिए अब वह सिर्फ भोले की भक्ति में रहता। उसने सोचा कि मेरा तो अब कोई नहीं, अब इस मंदिर में ही अपना पूरा जीवन बिता दूंगा। उसके पास जो भी जमीन -जायदाद था। मंदिर को दान कर देना चाहता था, क्योंकि वह अब सारा जीवन अपना मंदिर में ही बिताएगा। वह तहसीलदार के पास गया और बोला यह मेरी जमीन के कागजात है और आप सारे कागजात मंदिर के नाम कर दो, उसने अपनी सारे कागजात को एक पोटली में बांधकर लाया था और उसने वह पोटली उस तहसीलदार को पकड़ा दिया। तभी तहसीलदार उसे कागजातों की पर्ची का एक पर्ची दिया, तभी भोला कहा, अरे अब मैं इस पर्ची का क्या करूंगा और वह वहां से चला गया। भोला की पर्ची ना लेने पर तहसीलदार के मन में लालच आ गया और उसने सोचा कि क्यों ना भोला कि सारी जमीन का मैं अपने हवाले कर लू । अब भोला मंदिर चला गया था और तभी तहसील दार उसकी जमीन की नकली पर्ची बनाकर उसकी जमीन हड़प लेना चाहता था और उसने ऐसा ही किया। जब भोला को यह बात पता चली तो वह उसके पास गया और कहा कि आपने यह गलत किया है, आप मेरी जमीन लौटा दे तो उस तहसीलदार ने कहा कौन सी जमीन,मैंने कौन से तेरा जमीन लिया है। चल भाग यहां से। भोला को कुछ समझ नहीं आ रहा था कि वह क्या करें। फिर वह मंदिर गया और वहां कुछ देर शांत बैठने से उसके मन में ख्याल आया क्यों ना मैं पुलिस में जाकर इसकी शिकायत करूं तो शायद मेरी जमीन मिल जाए, फिर वह पुलिस थाने गया शिकायत करने और उसकी शिकायत पर पुलिस वालों ने अपनी कार्यवाही शुरू की और तहसीलदार को अदालत बुलाया। अदालत पहुंचने पर जब उससे पूछा गया कि तुमने भोला कि जमीन क्यों लिया,क्या भोला जो कह रहा है, वह सच है। तभी तहसीलदार बोला नहीं जैसा नहीं जज साहब मैंने भोला की कोई जमीन नहीं लिया है।

उसने मुझसे कुछ पैसे कर्ज लिया था, जो वह चुका नहीं पाया इसलिए मैंने उन पैसों के बदले उसकी जमीन को अपने नाम कर लिया है। तभी भोला बोला जज साहब मैंने कोई भी पैसा नहीं लिया है या झूठ बोल रहा है मैंने धनी सेठ से पैसा लिया था जो मैंने उसे लौटा दिया है मैंने इससे कोई पैसा नहीं लिया है या झूठ बोल रहा है। तहसीलदार ने उसके प्रति हर एक झूठा सबूत इकट्ठा कर रखा था जो यह साबित करता था कि वह पैसे कर्ज पर ले रखा है परंतु भोला के पास ऐसा कुछ नहीं था जो वह साबित कर सके कि उसने पैसा नहीं लिया है ना ही वह पर्ची थी, जो उसने उस समय उसको दे रहा था और वह लिया नहीं उस पर बिना सोचे समझे विश्वास कर लिया था जिससे उसको जह दिन में देखना पड़ा। तभी जज साहब ने कहा जब तुम तहसीलदार से जमीन के कागजात लेके गए थे तो क्या उस समय कोई था। (तभी भोला के मन में जो ख्याल आया कि महादेव तो हर जगह कण-कण में विख्यात है तो उस समय मेरे साथ तो सिर्फ मेरे प्रभु शिव शंभू ही होंगे) तभी भोला बोला जज साहब उस समय मैं और शिव शंभू थे उस वक्त और तहसीलदार और कोई नहीं था और उसने उस लाल पोटली में मेरे कागजात के साथ एक पर्ची रखी थी, जिस पर उसने वह सब कुछ लिखा था। तभी तहसीलदार बोला कौन सी पर्ची, कैसी पर्ची, मेरे पास कोई पर्ची नहीं है। जज साहब जो झूठ बोल रहा है। तभी जज साहब बोले पहले शिव शंभू को बुलाया जाए, उनके बयान पर ही अब भोला को बचा सकता है। तहसीलदार परेशान हो गया वह सोच में पड़ गया कि उस समय तो कोई नहीं था, फिर यह शिव शंभू कौन है। भोला को यह कहां दिखा और ऐसा उस समय तो कोई नहीं था उस समय। तभी अगले दिन जब अदालत में शिव शंभू को बुलाया गया तो उस समय शिव शंभू आए और कहे कि यह तहसीलदार झूठ बोल रहा है उस समय भोला ने इसे जमीन के सारे कागजात दिए और कहा कि यह सारे जमीन मंदिर के नाम कर दो और जब इसने भोला को पर्ची दी तो भोला बोला मैं क्या करूंगा पर्ची तो फिर उस समय इसने उस पर्ची को उसी पोटली में बांधकर रख दिया। तभी जज साहब बोले कि इसके पास तो कोई पोटली नहीं मिली तभी शिव शंभू भोले की पोटली इसने छुपा कर रखी है, एक छुपा खाना जिसने अपने घर में बना रखा है उसकी साथ अलमारी के पीछे एक गुप्त दरवाजा है वहीं पर इसने उस पगली को छुपा कर रखा है। तभी वहां जांच पड़ताल की गई और उस पर वह पोटली मिली और उसने उस तहसीलदार के द्वारा लिखी गई पर्ची भी थी जिसमें वह सब कुछ लिखा हुआ था। जैसा भोला ने कहा था वह सब सच था। फिर भोला को उसकी सारी जमीन लौटा दी गई और वह जमीन मंदिर के नाम कर दी गई और वह उन पर्ची को लेकर मंदिर में ही रख दिया। अब भोला उसी मंदिर में कई सालों तक भगवान शिव की पूजा और आराधना रहा और लोग कल्याण में अपना योगदान देता रहा।
